Job Summary
Summary Description
The Global Housing Coordinator at Mercy Ships International Office manages guest accommodation placement for both ISC and Ship requests and serves as a backup Receptionist. This role provides exceptional hospitality and guest experience by using industry best practices with high focus on communications.
How You’ll Contribute
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Receive, review and respond to accommodation requests via the Mercy Ships Travel Portal.
- Accurately manage and maintain accommodation booking status in StarRez.
- Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between the Travel Center, Stewards Hotel Services, Pursers, and Ship P&C departments.
- Ensure housing requests adhere to Guest Policy.
- Pre-Block rooms for large groups (i.e. Vision trips, On Boarding, etc.).
- Update and maintain Guests Guidebooks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ship Process:
- Review required travel documents and communicate any deficiencies.
- Create guest profile through multi-step inputs.
- Communicate with ship P&C when crew cabin bed space is required for guests.
ISC Process:
- Send guest confirmation letters and key pick up instructions.
- Ensure correct room key placement in Key Cafe.
- Communicate room turnover needs to hospitality supervisor.
- Facilitate invoice and payment for all self-funded request.
- Report monthly department charge.
Hospitality Assistant/Reception:
- Create persons entering building, determine nature and purpose of visit and direct them to or contact appropriate host to escort them to specific destination.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures. Log Campus guests and provide Visitor badges as required.
- Operate telephone system via Webex to answer and screen calls. Check voice mail messages each morning and after lunch; return calls or forward as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospitality team and overall operations.
- Must be able to stand/walk for multiple hours; lift up to 25lbs.

Education And Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.
- High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
- Previous data entry, reservation or scheduling experience required.
- Customer service experience required.
- Hotel/Housing experience preferred.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
