What are the responsibilities and job description for the Processing Tech I - Surgery - Full-time - Days position at MercyOne?
Position Purpose:
Assists members of the surgery team with day-to-day functions of the department. Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients.
What you will Do:
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment, surgical instruments, and rooms.
- Stocks materials, supplies and linen
- Transports patients
- Provides documentation.
- Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
Hours/Schedule:
FTE 1.0 M-F WEEKEND CALL ROTATION; M-F HOURS 1000-1830
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
- Minimum of six months experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.
- Basic language, basic math, basic reasoning ability and computer skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work under pressure and to take direction from others.
