Description:
Sonographer Concentration Coordinator
- Report (s) to the Program Chair, who must be designated and responsible for the coordination of concentration(s) for the program’s Abdomen-Extended/ Obstetrics and Gynecology Concentration.
- Sonographer Concentration Coordinator must:
- possess an academic degree no lower than an Bachelor's degree
- possess the appropriate credential (RDMS) specific to the concentration(s) that s/he is designated to coordinate
- have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in educational theories and technique
- have at least two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
- Develop, design, and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator and review and assist with revision as needed for department policies and procedures
- Provide course syllabi for instruction in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator
- Develop, design, and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator
- Participate in student advising and mentoring, formulate and administer student competencies as needed
- Engage in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship and service
- Grade examinations and assignments and review evaluations with students, meet all established deadlines set by the College for testing assignments and grade submissions
- Review and assist with revisions needed for department policies and procedures
- Identify and recommend to the Department Chair appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences
