Description :
The paraeducator will work with a variety of students of varying disabilities under the supervision of a special education teacher to provide academic and vocational assistance in the district's 18-22 year old community based transition program to promote student achievement of transition goals and objectives.
This involves supporting students in classroom and community settings to further develop skill sets in the following focus areas : employment, postsecondary education and independent living.
The CCC Paraeducator must :
- Become familiar with each student's IEP goals and objectives.
- Support transition students academically and vocationally.
- Maintain confidentiality about all personal information and educational records concerning students and their families.
- Follow district policies for protecting the health, safety and well-being of students.
- Collect and record data about student performance.
- Write transition / vocational summary reports for Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings
- Follow through with suggestions and procedures given by the supervisor.
- Serve as a link between school and postsecondary / community partners.
Requirements :
A Para-Pro Certificate, Associate Degree, or 60 college credits are required to fulfill this position.
Please note that until you fulfill the above requirements, you will be hired as a substitute paraeducator. This does not include any benefits and is an hourly rate of $16.25.
