We are seeking a Full-Time Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team and work 1:1 with students in our state-approved private special education school.

What You’ll Do
- Provide 1:1 support to students with disabilities under the guidance of a Special Education Teacher
- Assist students with academic tasks, behavioral interventions, and personal care
- Keep students engaged and on task throughout the school day
- Collect student-specific data to support individualized education plans
- Implement Physical and Psychological Management Techniques as needed
What We’re Looking For
- A caring and patient individual who is passionate about working with students
- Ability to follow individualized education and behavior plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and participate in paid training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
- Certifications will be paid for and coordinated by The Light House
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must pass background checks and registry screenings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and balance for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to assist students with mobility needs and personal care
- Ability to drive multi-passenger vehicles as needed
