Mechanical Assembly Technician

Position Summary: Meridian Laboratory is seeking detail-oriented and skillful Mechanical Assemblers to help in the manufacturing and assembly of its unique line of rotating electrical connectors. Using various mechanical and electrical tools and equipment, carefully assemble multi-part assemblies (ranging between 10-200 parts!) into end-products to be used worldwide in packaging, semiconductor, food & beverage, robotics, and many more industries. Methodical and careful attention to detail is required as quality is the most important factor at hand! Many opportunities for growth and advancement exist as skillsets develop and mature over time!

To be successful in this role, your responsibilities include:

• Follow safety procedures within the production environment
• Follow directions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Work with the production team and Production Manager(s) to ensure delivery dates are met
• Use hand tools to assemble precision components into assemblies and sub-assemblies
• Read prints and inspect parts to verify accuracy
• Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to measure parts
• Solder components and inspect for quality
• Read BOMs from ERP system to pull parts from inventory to be used in assemblies
• Follow electrical and mechanical testing procedures to verify conformance of parts and assemblies

Required:

• Experience with detailed, multi-part assemblies
• Experience with precision measurement devices and tools
• Experience with print reading and part inspection
• Experience soldering components together is a plus
• Experience working with an ERP system is a plus
• Strong Mechanical aptitude and general interest in manufacturing, sciences, or technology
• Interest and understanding of technical/engineering related subjects and topics
• Strong dependability and reliability
• Effective communication skills and team player mentality
• Pride in work and desire for self-improvement
• Willingness to learn and try new things
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Work Hours: Typical daytime / first shift, Monday through Friday in a clean, organized, manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
