Summary
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble when not operating properly
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove/repair defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Runs devices to test their performance.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines and other equipment.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively with employees of the organization, vendors, customers, and guests.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Job Performance Standards
- Passes all maintenance performance reviews.
- Adherence to all company safety rules.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Makes timely repairs to equipment to limit downtime.
- Completes all required documentation timely and accurately.
- Does not exceed the allowed number of absences as defined in the employee manual.
- Performs all necessary maintenance of physical plant or supervises contractors to perform such tasks.
Other Requirements
Able to operate filling machines with training and perform other duties as assigned.
Information & Compensation & Benefits
Schedule: 1st Shift 6:00 am-2:30 pm M-F
Pay: This position has a salary range of $22.00 - $25.00. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location
Bonus Pay: Meridian is actively participating in a productivity incentive plan for 2025. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
