Job Summary-

The MHP Human Resources Generalist will manage the day-to-day of our Human Resources function. This candidate must have the ability to partner with executive leadership, other management and team members to provide expertise on HR related items. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Human Resources, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administers human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave of absence, workers compensation, on-boarding and off-boarding, terminations and employee recognition.
  • Manages Family Medical Leave (FMLA) prepares documents, tracks and monitors.
  • Files Workers Compensation and Short-Term Disability claims and follow-ups with employees.
  • Partner with 3rd party benefits vendors to process benefits enrollments and makes changes for employees.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends, best practices and regulatory changes, in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Participates in implementation of new systems and upgrades.
  • Can perform and support all phases of recruitment process.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training and continuing education, which includes but is not limited to CME, BLS, FD, MA, X-Ray (other tracking as assigned).
  • Maintains complete employee files consistent with organizational standards.
  • Responsible for pre-employment tasks (offer letter, background check, drug screen, etc.)
  • Responsible for sending out pre-employment documents, new hire on-boarding paperwork and completion of off boarding tasks at the time of separation.
  • Conducts exit interviews and discusses any concerns or constructive feedback with Director.
  • Assists Director and supports Center Managers and Clinical Operations with disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations including but not limited to disciplinary meetings, investigations and terminations.
  • Meets with Director once a week to review all HR people related issues.
  • Handles routine employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices as required to maintain compliance.
  • Assists in the communication, interpretation and upkeep of the of the employee handbook and directory.
  • Works to solution Unemployment claims if and when they arise.
  • Liaises with HR related legal resources to navigate employment issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. May be asked to perform tasks beyond those specifically listed which allows for flexibility and adaptability in the workplace.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Two to three years of human resources management experience required.
  • Ability to partner with executive leadership to provide expertise on HR related items.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to act with integrity, empathy, ownership, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Must be proficient with computers and HRIS software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
