Job Summary: A receptionist / administrative assistant will embody the mission and vision of Merit Hearing. He/she is expected to consistently exceed patient and health care providers’ expectations using Merit Hearing’s values.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) position.
Supervision: Supervised by the audiologist.
Major Duties: A receptionist / administrative assistant person’s duty is to:
- Answer the phone and emails in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Greet and register patients; notify the audiologist of their arrival.
- Scan and input patient demographic information, insurance data and all other information into electronic medical records system.
- Maintain providers’ schedules, optimizing effective scheduling of appointments. Confirms appointments for daily schedule.
- Prepare outgoing packages and schedule USPS/FedEx/UPS pickups.
- Maintain records by recording patient encounters. Thoroughly documents all communications with patients and providers.
- Receive and document hearing aids dropped-off as part of the drop-off clinic.
- Receive patient payments and send invoices.
- Interact and communicate professionally with co-workers, management and patients.
- Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in conformity with all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations in his/her relationship with the public and other health care professionals.
- Maintain a safe and efficient office environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently using knowledge and technical skills.
