POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing strategies and cultivating relationships with the goal of elevating the visibility of Meritrust, while growing our brand and membership base. The position is also responsible for seeking out new business relationships and managing organizational sponsorship/giving opportunities designed to maintain and increase existing business and capture key partnerships. The vice president works closely with sales leaders across the organization to ensure coordinated communication and maximization of relationship potential. Acts as a champion for effective revenue generation and growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify and target centers of influence that can support the growth of the credit union. Partner with sales leaders within the organization to strategically select the influencers who will find mutual value in building a relationship with Meritrust.
  • Create a database of contacts and strategies to proactively engage these individuals, including identification of points of contact, cultivation of relationships and articulation of our value proposition.
  • Lead the direction and guide sales leaders with the key COI and relationships that bring value back to the organization.
  • Directs the effort to enhance prospective member tracking and reporting tools in CRM. Can translate activities to quantified results.
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, proactive strategy focused on enhancing corporate relationships and building strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis and develop and communicate final recommendations for growing partner relationships
  • Increase visibility of the credit union and build a strong community presence within the communities we serve through active participation in community events and membership in civic and other organizations, i.e. Chamber, Rotary.
  • Build professional and trusting relationships with key community partners, such as business leaders and nonprofit professionals.
  • Develops and solidifies relationships with key community and business trade groups.
  • Manages current SEG relationships via on-site visits, enrollment sessions, financial workshops, product/service presentations, and consistent communication to increase awareness and membership penetration. Provides members with information on deposit accounts and loan features, along with opening accounts and cross-selling products.
  • Identify opportunities to market the credit union and establish a project plan/schedule to deepen and maintain relationships with targeted groups.
  • Monitor progress to growth objectives through tracking results from business development initiatives.
  • Analyze business penetration and production of each strategic and community partner to ensure profitability on a quarterly/annual basis.
  • Creates strategies for strategic partner development and solicitation of new market prospects for growth and increased market penetration. Formulates plans for expanding existing relationships and cultivating new relationships.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive organizational giving strategy that supports our employees, members and communities, while enhancing and building on our strategic partnerships.
  • Manage relationships and charitable giving to ensure alignment to key organizational objectives.
  • Review community and nonprofit requests to ensure contributions promote community goodwill, diversity and awareness of Meritrust in each of the communities.
  • Partner with marketing/communications to increase awareness and communicate the impact of Meritrust charitable gifts, sponsorships and volunteer activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies that encourage Meritrust employees to engage in community activities and events sponsored by Meritrust.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Business acumen and ability to build the business case and communicate new or changing strategies to support growth initiatives.
  • Strategic/critical thinker asks strong questions, listens intently and translates information into solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in negotiation and persuasion.
  • Ability to build the Meritrust brand with every key relationship
  • Proven relationship builder who is authentic, strategic and able to turn key relationships into tangible ROI and growth for the company.
  • Established, respected and well-known in the local Wichita or Greater Denver community.
  • Collaborates well with other support departments, leadership team management, and member-client management.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of sales, marketing and business development processes
  • Understanding of related financial services industry legal and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of Credit Union products and services

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of professional experience, with a significant portion in leadership roles within sales/business development.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years working within the community with local non-profit agencies, philanthropy or community organizing.
