The Assistant Branch Manager, under the direction of the Branch Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day branch operations, and management of the Teller Supervisor. Monitors sales and service quality levels and mentors team to achieve goals. Perform a variety of complex duties to serve members by providing excellent member service with the highest degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Strong Leadership skills needed to coach and lead branch team.
Work requires knowledge of a multi-line phone system and work processing.
Work requires frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds when carrying boxes and supplies to the stock room. This activity also requires frequent standing, and occasional bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.
Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculation and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.). These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of high school.
Experience at a financial institution required. Knowledge of consumer lending and account opening as well as Teller knowledge is required.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Train, coach, guide and oversee the Teller Supervisor and their efforts to implement the CU’s strategic plan, operational duties and efficiencies, transactions and all cash handling responsibilities.
Work closely with the Member Service Representatives to complete job responsibilities within policy and with proper use of procedure requirements.
Monitor errors and efficiencies for accountability factors
Train and coach toward proper processes for all member service duties, including but not limited to lending, account opening and maintenance.
Maintain and oversee the sales / referral component of the teller staff through tracking, in-branch promotions along with CU marketing initiatives and by coaching effective and strategic relationship building conversations and product awareness.
Train, coach, guide and oversee the expected Member Experience standards with the teller staff and their efforts to implement exceptional service.
Ensure Credit Union Policy is being followed by all branch staff.
Provide backup supervision of Member Service Representatives as needed.
Evaluate team members’ performance, complete disciplinary actions as needed, and perform annual performance reviews.
Produce and analyze trend reports pertaining to the branch.
Coordinate work schedules, including approving time off requests when needed.
Hold periodic staff meetings to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or services, and to present general information.
Oversee staff adherence to performance expectations, including member experience guidelines.
Communicate and maintain branch safety and compliance.
Responsible for overall branch maintenance.
Conduct all branch audits as required while retaining accurate records in accordance with policy.
Review of Weekly Exception Report and Over / Short Report.
Oversee adherence to proper dual control procedures in branch.
As needed, assist members with a variety of services, including new accounts, loans, account maintenance and teller transactions.
Subject Matter Expert on HSA and IRA processing for Credit Union.
May be required to provide coverage for additional Branches other than the primary Branch of assignment on an as needed basis.
Retail staff is hired for all Branch locations and may be called upon at any time to transfer to other Branch locations.
