Position Title: Material Handler
Work Area: Warehouse/Storage Barn
Work Type: Independent with Clear Responsibilities
Reports to: President, Director of Operations, and Floor Supervisor
Duties include but not limited to:
· Supply materials, components, and packaging to machines to keep production running.
· Transport plastic resin from WIP area to machines(s)
· Mixing of materials, colors and/or regrinding.
· Perform material testing, such as moisture content tests to ensure quality of raw materials used in production.
· Loading of materials into dryer or hopper bins as required
· Cleaning of dryers and hoppers, filter system, and system hoses as well as transport bins.
· Assisting with Operator shift breaks/lunch
· Completion of material/dryer documentation is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ambitious, able to lift up to 50-75lbs daily, ability to climb step ladders or maneuver around machines to clean hopper vacuum systems. Basic understanding of addition and subtraction (percentage/ratio) and demonstrate good documentation skills. Must be safe and aware of surroundings. Forklift certified candidate a plus.
Expectation for Material Handler:
Merlin expects the Material Handler to be able to work by oneself to achieve a natural cadence so that production needs are ALWAYS met. Most days this is a position where you are required to be self-sufficient with the delivery of materials, packaging, and distribution of other required tasks, such as Operator breaks or daily meetings, which must be worked into daily cadence. On some occasions a second person may be available to assist in required tasks but should not be relied upon as constant assistance. Once a month, a Saturday shift will be required for end of month inventory counts of material.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
