Summer 2025 Anticipated Openings
The Newton Public Schools Summer Learning Academy
Summer programming for 2025 will include:

Title I: Grades K-2 Summer Enrichment & Grades 5-8 Enrichment

Choose to Connect (C2C) grades 3-8

Programs will begin on Monday July 7, 2025 and run through August 1, 2025
- The program will run Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, hours can be seen next to each position.
- There will be a Summer Learning Academy Orientation planned for staff to attend (if you are available). At the orientation we will discuss program expectations, schedule, etc.. and also take some time to coordinate and collaborate with planning opportunities. Those who attend will have the opportunity to be compensated up to 4
K-2 Summer Enrichment, 5th-8th Enrichment and C2C
Unlock Creativity, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking! Our K-8 Summer Enrichment Program is designed to inspire young learners by fostering curiosity and advancing academic skills through engaging, project-based learning experiences. We plan to activate 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, by empowering students to tackle real-world challenges in a fun and supportive environment.
The program integrates English Language Arts, Mathematics and STEAM at appropriate grade levels, reinforcing essential prerequisite concepts and skills. Through hands-on projects, interactive activities, and teamwork, students will develop problem-solving abilities that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Summer Nurse (not to exceed 20 hours per week: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm)
on record with the district prior to the summer program starting July 7th. Summer Substitute Teachers and Substitute Teacher’s Assistants

Not to exceed 25 hours per week 7:45 am to 12:45 pm ($40.00 per hour)
Not to exceed 20 hours per week: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm ($37.50 per hour)
Not to exceed 22.5 hours per week: 8:00 am to 12:30 pm ($17.00 per hour)
Field Trips: (@ positional hourly rate)

Halsted Middle School:
