Position Summary
The Seasonal Compliance Associate supports the efficient operation of Merrick Bank’s Compliance and CRA activities, contributing to the Bank's compliance initiatives and strategic goals. This role involves entering and updating information in the Archer System and other compliance-related platforms, monitoring and updating tracking documents, and assisting with the administration of the Bank's employee training program. The Seasonal Compliance Associate will also play a key role in supporting the Bank's progress toward its CRA Strategic Plan goals, coordinating internal and external training opportunities, and performing additional tasks as assigned by Compliance Management or the Chief Compliance Officer. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure the Bank's compliance objectives are met. This position requires availability of 10-15 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions
- System Data Management: Enter, update, and maintain compliance-related information in the Archer System and other tracking platforms utilized by the Compliance Department.
- Tracking and Reporting: Regularly update and monitor compliance tracking documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Employee Training Support: Assist in the administration of the Bank’s employee training program, including setting up new employees, assigning annual training courses, and coordinating supplemental and external training opportunities.
- CRA Strategic Plan Support: Provide support in the implementation and monitoring of the Bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Strategic Plan, ensuring progress toward established goals.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Adhere to all Bank policies, internal controls, and procedures. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and remain knowledgeable about the legal and regulatory frameworks governing the Bank’s operations.
- Reporting Noncompliance: Identify and communicate any issues related to noncompliance with internal policies, the Bank’s code of conduct, laws and regulations, or other policy violations. Actively report operational issues, illegal acts, or noncompliance concerns to management.
- Administrative Support: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Compliance Department, ensuring smooth execution of daily compliance operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
- Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Capable of working within strict deadlines while handling a variety of assignments simultaneously.
- Detail-Oriented with Analytical Abilities: Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy. Ability to review complex information and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement, particularly in compliance-related tasks.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Able to remain flexible and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide practical solutions under pressure.
- Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and departments to ensure the smooth execution of compliance tasks and initiatives. Able to clearly communicate issues or concerns to management when needed.
