Starting salary range: $52,000 - 60,000
PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered immediately upon employment, 401(k) after 6 months.
Overview: As an Estimating Administrator for MERRILL: A Keel Company, you will be responsible for acting as liason betwen various departments and customers. You will coordinate requests received for pricing and information for the Estimating Department.
Job Functions:
- Maintains and directs outside customer portal access
- Coordinates all incoming Request for Quote information in preparation for the quoting team review
- Reviews incoming data for key information related to the quote specifics, including dates, forms, and missing information
- Requests missing information directly from the customer
- Research reference data from past quotes and programs using MERRILL’s ERP system (IFS), Product Life Management (PLM) and other document control systems
- Generates detailed entry of each request into MERRILL’s MQ quote system
- Saves all related documentation and communications in proper drive locations
- Presents all requests received to Management in daily Opportunity Review meetings, tracking all action items and updating the estimating labor backlog accordingly
- Works with salespersons, customers, Estimating Manager, Pricing Manager, Estimators, and proposal team members as needed to enter and update quote data
- Sends updates to quote specific team members when additional information is received
- Works with other departments as needed to coordinate required documents for quote submittal including Sales, Contracts, Launch and Quality
- Has a general understanding of MERRILL’s manufacturing processes and the ability to read engineering drawings and other technical documents required for manufacturing customer products. Coordinates all outgoing quote submittals via customer specific portals
- Offers no-quote responses to customers as needed. Requests extensions from customers if required
- Work directly with the Pricing Manager to collect finalized quote documents and submit
- Assists in communication as needed with customer and other departments following orders being received
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required, associates degree in business related field or equivalent job experience preferred
- Minimum three (3) year administrative office experience; exposure to manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and customer contact preferred
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be well organized with exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, comprehension, and reasoning skills
- Multitask in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure and collaborating as part of a team or independently
- Ability to read engineering drawings and other customer technical documents
- Preference for candidates who can indentify and classify government documents including but not limited to Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI), Controlled Unclassified Information, Controlled Technical Information (CTI) and Covered Defense Information (CDI)
