Job Purpose:
The general focus of this position is to serve the Merritt customers parts needs. Candidate will energetically and politely greet each parts customer. Candidate will engage customer prospects through Telephone, Social Media, cold calling and customer walk in traffic to build personal relationships designed to improve sales. Candidate will also spend time preparing packages for customer timely shipments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary job duties and responsibilities are included but not limited to:
Get the Order using various customer sales methods including:
- Cold Calling, Social Media, Telephone and Trade shows & Conferences
Work within the department structure to help meet the teams sales goals.
Present products or services to prospective and current customers.
Assist back counter parts with unloading vendor deliveries.
Research and acquire parts for service work orders upon request.
Create digital PO for all special order (Z number) parts sold over counter.
Assist Inventory Control in creating special order (ZS numbers) upon request.
Help manage the day to day shipping and receiving by correctly addressing orders and making sure shipping deadlines are met.
Assist in tracking inventory.
Addition duties as necessary to support the parts department as a whole.
Think outside of the existing process to improve flow and accuracy of orders.
Any additional duties that may become part of the order process.
Keeping a clean and presentable work space.
Operate each day upholding the core values laid out by Merritt's Senior Management
Knowledge and Skills for this Position:
High energy self-starter.
Ability to manage large database of parts & accounts.
Knowledge of MS Office environment to produce reports for sales managers.
Extensive working knowledge of products and specifications.
Sales skills and customer follow up.
Time management skills required to balance and prioritize work given the time constraints that exist.
Strong listening and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Good attitude with fellow employees & customers.
Detail oriented, self-directed, and good communication/personal skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to contribute to a team.
Willing to work 40 hours weekly.
Requirements:
1 years sales experience preferred.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required.
Random drug testing required after employment.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office working conditions, but shipping and receiving duties may require outdoor attire at times.
Physical Requirements:
General health conditions that enable employee to work a consistent schedule during the day.
