Material Handler

Regular Requirements: Twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 25 pounds; walk up and down flights of stairs. Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally.

Safety-Sensitive Work Environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment. Mertz has an established workplace safety program to provide a healthful, safe and environmentally compliant work environment for employees, customers and visitors. Its success depends on the alertness and personal commitment of all. Safety-critical tasks are performed throughout the facility on a daily basis. These jobs include operating forklifts, overhead cranes, heavy equipment operation and tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment. An employee in this position could be subject to exposure to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, moving objects, mechanical parts, and equipment hazards. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn in designated areas at all times. An employee in this position must demonstrate an understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate inventory records.

· Receive and store raw material.

· Safely operate equipment required in these operations.

· Correct any inventory inaccuracies discovered when pulling material.

· Conduct physical inventory cycle counts and location audits to determine the accuracy of inventory balances.

· Pull raw material from stock and deliver to the required department.

· Stock received material and provide part location information to be entered into the computer records.

• Fundamentals of computer work such as accurate data entry
• Reliable and willing to work on weekends if needed

Other Requirements

• A pre-employment drug screen and background check is required upon receipt of a conditional offer. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
