Sales Manager (Apparatus )
Job Summary
The Apparatus Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales, and customer service strategies with fire departments and municipalities across the state of Virginia. The overall duties shall include but are not limited to visiting with the end users as required, determining their needs both for sales and service, selling MES represented fire apparatus, delivering and training of the fire apparatus.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Sell and deliver a minimum of 10 apparatus per annum across the described territory
- Maintain competitive benchmark analysis of competitor’s network
- Ensure that the company’s brand and quality is consistent while creating plans to address discrepancies when identified
- Represent MES at industry shows, events, and travel will be required
Required Qualifications
- Solve complex problems utilizing strong process-oriented tools and existing policies and procedures.
- Must have strong communication skills and influencing skills
- Experience in parallel processing short-term goals with long-term strategic goals
- Prior mechanical experience
- Prior P&L experience
- Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License and valid medical card for Interstate Travel
Education:
- Minimum 5 years Fire Service/Industry Related Experience
- Prior program Management or Fire Service leadership training required – certification preferredAbility to work with all levels of internal staff and external customers
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Ability to work across all stakeholder functions
- Prior industry experience (preferred) but adjacent industry knowledge acceptable
- Proven strong partnering skills with customers
- Experience in designing / leading training programs
First Year Expectations:
- Mastery of the apparatus products and offerings
- Collaborate in training other fire apparatus sales specialists when needed
- Assist in securing the goals of the MES fire apparatus division
- Support profitable sales growth that meets MES’s objectives and exceeds overall territory growth
