Under supervision from the Director of Engineering, Renewable Projects, the Permit Manager will assist with overseeing the development of a Permitting service for the company that will be able to support the Permits required for large utility connected renewable projects. The projects could be wind, solar, energy storage, transmission lines, or typical utility T&D projects. The position will require coordination and interactions with all Federal, State, County, City, Railroad, Electrical, and Private entities. The Permit Manager will bring these skills and sufficient experience with the required permit application process, and the ability to understand the engineering deliverables typical for these projects. Successful candidate will work with many different internal resources; the Renewables implementation team, transmission line engineers, client contacts, and field personnel. The candidate will need to present relevant experience with applicable regulations such as: OSHA, FCC, NESC and NEC, GO 95, GO 128 etc.
As Permitting services are fairly new to the Mesa team, the candidate will be responsible for helping create permitting procedures, workflows, and practices that will adhere to other established Mesa procedures.
Required Education / Experience & Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience with utility coordination and permitting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
- Self-motivated and able to work alone
- Strong communication skills with the public and internal project stakeholders.
- Ability to provide training and support to future hires
- Ability to listen, execute and deliver the client’s needs
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None initially but this could change in the future
Remote role?
- Yes, but weekly meetings in the Lakewood, CO office will be required initially.

Annual Salary Range:
$100,000-$115,000
The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.
