JOB SUMMARY:
The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees and supervises the daily work of Janitors and Floor Techs. The Supervisor ensures that cleanliness standards are achieved. Daily schedules are monitored and adjusted to maintain operations and ensure assignments are completed according to the cleaning checklists. Assist with the coordination of all staff activities such as training staff on safety, disinfection, their job duties and responsibilities, the proper use of chemicals and equipment. The Supervisor will assess the quality of work via inspection to ensure that quality standards are met. They may also perform some of the tasks of a janitor of floor tech. They will assist with scheduling manpower and time keeping/payroll. They are also responsible for reporting broken equipment and supply inventory control.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Interview and train staff
- Assist with developing weekly schedules for cleaning staff
- Monitor daily schedules including lunches and breaks
- Manage staff requests for time off
- Keep track of inventory needs
- Assist with administrative tasks including time keeping
- Maintain safety and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Oral and written communications must be clear and effective.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- Janitorial or housekeeping supervision experience strongly preferred
- Human Resources or management experience is a plus
- Prior scheduling manpower and timekeeping experience a plus
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed
- Attention to detail
- Leadership skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- All applicants must be able to pass a background check including a fingerprint check for CBI/FBI allowing access to restricted areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
The employee may be exposed to dirt and dust for sustained periods of time. The employee is frequently exposed to loud noise.
The employee will be working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Position requires working within the Sheriff’s Office Detention facility and Work Release facilities.
Work hours may vary at the discretion of the Supervisor.
