New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

OVERVIEW:
To ensure adequate account balances for Title I programs; to provide financial data and verification of account balances; and to gather information regarding budget allocations and requests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in accounting preferred with minimum three years experience in accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education
- High proficiency in typing, data entry and 10-key by touch with accuracy; excellent test battery; high math aptitude; skill in performing detailed numerical computations
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc); knowledge and experience with mainframe computers and financial queries (OBARS)
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with an accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
- Ability to perform high-volume detailed work with accuracy; to assume responsibility; to independently make sound fact-based decisions for daily tasks; to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with district personnel of all levels, general public and outside agencies
- Assist in compiling budget data to build the federal and state Title I budget; calculate budget allocations
- Monitor account balances and codes to ensure adequate fund balances and the appropriate use of funds
- Prepare correspondence and various reports
- Provide financial information regarding account deficits to convey information necessary for administrative decision making
- Research budget history to provide financial data and verification of account balances
- Respond to various inquiries from district personnel to assist them regarding site funding, purchase orders, budget history, etc to convey information and ensure adherence to proper budget procedures
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate records to ensure adherence to district policies
- Transfer funds to and from accounts to maintain adequate balances
- Maintain and distribute time and effort logs to appropriate departments per federal guidelines
- Monitor account codes on requisitions and PARFs; maintain position control functions
- Run various financial reports and report discrepancies to director; prepare data for grant applications, amendments and other interim reports
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
