What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Safety Monitor / Emergency Services - PRN (As Needed) position at Mesa View Regional Hospital?
A Patient Safety Monitor assists nursing employees with monitoring assigned patients under the direction and guidance of a staff nurse to provide observation of patients as a "sitter" only. The Patient Safety Monitor provides constant observation to patients who may be in danger of harming themselves or acting in an unsafe manner. The patient sitter provides a safe environment for the patient requiring one to one observation. Is accountable for own action in performing sitter duties as trained. There are no clinical skills associated with this position. Must be able to focus attention on patient and patient’s activity and remain alert for an extended period of time.
Previous Hospital experience preferred. Good communication/customer service skills. CNA preferred.
Current BLS Required. CPI Training required within 6 months of hire - or similar training.
**Pay range: $16 - $18 (depending on experience)**
