What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Transporter - PRN (As Needed) position at Mesa View Regional?
Transports patients to and from their inpatient beds and other areas. Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision of Radiology Director. Timely transport of patients to various locations within the hospital.
Monitoring transport requests and completing them promptly.
Complying with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate patient safety equipment and appropriate safety procedures. Transports patients safely and efficiently between various departments following appropriate transfer techniques and proper isolation/infection control procedures. Validates patients’ identity based on established department protocol. Remains alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff.
Maintaining accurate daily logs. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent. No experience necessary, but healthcare experience preferred. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
**Pay range: $16 - $18 (depending on experience)**
