Roles and Responsibilities :
The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs.
The ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent design.
Perform quality reviews of project deliverables.
Required Education / Experience :
A BSEE, BSEET, BSME or BSCE degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option.
Three (3) years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV).
The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development.
Prior utility experience.
Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practices.
Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills.
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Desired Education / Experience :
Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of Texas, or ability to achieve P.E. within six (6) months of hire date.
Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS etc.
The ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
