Payroll/Commissions Analyst

MESSER Financial Group, an insurance Field Marketing Organization in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an individual with exceptional mathematical and Excel skills to join our Commissions/Finance department. This is an in-office position.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Commissions Analyst will be committed to building and enhancing the financial processes and control structure of the company while providing quality customer support to our agents. The Commissions Analyst will be responsible for executing the financial and accounting activities of the company of the direction of the Assistant Director of Commissions.
- Access and process carrier commission statements to ensure the on-time, accurate payment of all agent commissions and posting of agent commission statements
- Log receipt of agent’s commission-related inquires
- Interact with agent-facing teams and agents directly to deliver world-class client services by researching and resolving commission inquiries timely and accurately
- Utilizing multiple internal systems of record to build, update and maintain agent accounts within the company’s commission system with a high level of accuracy and the ability to identify data inconsistencies that can result in the incorrect payment of commissions
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Commissions and the Director of Finance
Requirements:
- Expert skills in Excel including lookups, Pivot Tables, queries, and other advanced functions.
- Exceptional mathematical skills.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Quick learner – will be required to use multiple online systems/databases.
- Must be able to work in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment and effectively pivot between multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Organized and self-driven with an acute attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies.
- Prior professional experience in a position requiring advanced Excel and mathematical skills.
- Excellent customer focus and a service mentality.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience processing commissions
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or equivalent degree
- MySQL Database Experience
This is an in-office, full-time, hourly position with overtime required as needed. Business hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00P M and Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Compensation
Financial – hourly pay, with an annual target salary of $64,000 - $78,000, based on skill and experience, which includes a profit-sharing target of 10% of total compensation. Profit sharing is based upon the company’s financial performance and individual contribution to company success.
