Position Summary
The summer residence director is a live-in, professional employee whose responsibilities include oversight of up to 150 summer student residents who are living and working on campus.

Special Working Conditions
Live-in position; 15 hours a week, on-call hours during nights and weekends. Since this position may assist with transporting students for medical care, we require this person to possess a driver’s license and register as an approved driver for Messiah University.

Primary Duties
- Administration of summer residence hall including student discipline and related paperwork, and communication with maintenance staff.
- Plan and implement summer programming.
- Enforce community standards through appropriate confrontation.
- Liaison to Student Success & Engagement, Conference Services, Safety, and Human Resources.
- Work on res life initiatives as needed in partnership with Res Life.
- Work effectively with student employee supervisors in facilitating student work experience.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
