What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at Mestek, Inc?
Scope of Position:
Performs a wide variety of shipping and logistics tasks. Processes orders for shipment. Completes all necessary paperwork for outbound shipments. Reviews/audits freight bills for outbound shipments and prepares them for payment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rates and enters orders daily in computer for shipment
- Provides routing for outbound shipments
- Performs daily office work including typing correspondence & filing
- Files claims for UPS and other freight companies as needed
- Completes all customs paperwork for shipments to Canada
- Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested
- Regular attendance is always an essential function
Position Requirements:
The Logistics Coordinator must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years prior clerical experience in a logistics or shipping environment
- Ability to use computer software, including Word, Excel, & Outlook
- Must be able to get along with others
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form, in a professional manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
