Summary

*This position is a hybrid role in Aliso Viejo, CA*

 

As the Manager, Paid Media, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the strategic development, management, and execution of paid media campaigns across performance marketing channels, including paid search and shopping, affiliate marketing, customer and influencer referrals, paid social, display, and video advertising to drive revenue, qualified traffic, new customer acquisition, and app user acquisition. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing integrated strategies to optimize paid media efforts, drive our growth strategy, and enhance digital brand presence and awareness.

 

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, consumer focused, and a creative problem solver that uses data and cross-functional insights to make informed decisions, influence the marketing roadmap, and drive business results.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Manage paid media spend effectiveness, ensuring maximum return on investment (ROI) and efficient utilization of resources across paid media channels.
  • Plan, implement, and optimize paid campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta, TikTok, Snap, and other relevant advertising networks.
  • Manage and execute comprehensive paid search strategies aligned with the company's goals, target audience, and budgetary considerations.
  • Conduct keyword research, analyze search trends, and identify opportunities to improve campaign performance and generate high-quality leads.
  • Create and coordinate the implementation of paid social media plans that drive awareness, affinity, engagement, audience growth, and conversions.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to construct briefs, evaluate concepts, and develop compelling brand and product storytelling, landing pages, and creative assets that drive engagement, click through, and conversions.
  • Monitor and optimize bids, ad positions, and budgets to achieve desired campaign performance and objectives.
  • Regularly analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates (CVR), lifetime value (LTV), retention rate, and return on ad spend (ROAS), providing insights and recommendations to scale our marketing campaigns/programs efficiently.
  • Conduct A/B tests and other experiments to identify and implement data-driven optimizations, continually improving campaign performance and efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging digital marketing techniques to ensure our paid search strategies remain innovative and effective.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, brand, analytics, and creative to implement integrated strategies, share insights, and drive a holistic, full funnel approach to marketing initiatives.
  • Manage agency relationships, acting as the primary paid media point of contact, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and strategy, stakeholders, budgets, and encouraging a high-functioning and collaborative partnership.
  • Facilitate communication between brand, agency, and internal shared services in order to nimbly and clearly drive action.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of brand messaging throughout all channels
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

What you'll need:

 

Experience / Training / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Ads certification) are a plus.
  • 5 years in managing and optimizing paid search campaigns, preferably within a DTC or e-commerce environment.
  • Experience in strategic media planning for multiple objectives across the marketing funnel: consumer acquisition, brand awareness and consideration, and performance.
  • Deep understanding of cross channel performance marketing and related paid media platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta, DSPs, and other advertising networks.
  • Proficiency in using analytics and reporting tools, such as Google Analytics, to track and analyze campaign performance.
  • Solid knowledge of keyword research, competitive analysis, and SEO principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of paid search management platforms, product feed management, and/or tag management technology.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in paid search advertising.

 

Skills/Abilities

  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point experience
  • Strong verbal , written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks/responsibilities and meet expected timelines

 

Physical requirements/working conditions:

  • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
  • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
  • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
  • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; lifts 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

 

Compensation:

The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $115,000/yr - $125,000/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
