What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESTIMATOR position at Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation?
Summary:
Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Bay City, MI plant has an opening for an Estimator.
An Estimator is responsible for supporting the Sales and Customer Service teams with customer project estimates. Regular activities may include working with customers and/or architects to plan cost factors for building projects, analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. Regular use of computer programs such as AppliCad, Top View, Retro Master, and/or AutoCAD is the norm.
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Completing take off using current estimating software
- Completing reviews based off of testing requirements in specifications
- Completing accurate and descriptive documents representing project details on materials
- Supplying quote package to plant personnel
- Supporting inquiries from MSMC teams and customers
The most qualified candidates will have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in the building materials industry
- Experience with estimating and detailing commercial projects
- Solid mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software such as AutoCAD, AppliCad, Top View
- Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting/AutoCAD preferred; HS Diploma or equivalent required
