Essential Functions:
  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Design, install, program, build & rebuild advanced electronic circuitry.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related electrical and electronic systems (i.e. relay logic, PLC, Computer, & Microprocessor) and equipment.
  • In addition to electrical maintenance duties, will be required to perform the following mechanical maintenance duties:
  • Perform hydraulic maintenance (pumps, valves, controls and cylinders).
  • Perform plumbing maintenance (piping, fitting and assembly).
  • Perform pneumatic maintenance (cylinders, valves and controls).
  • Perform metal fabricating (cutting, fitting, bolting, welding and assembly).
  • Perform welding (oxygen, acetylene, arc welding, brazing, hard surfacing and silver soldering).
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repairs (wheelabrators, grinders, mixer, elevators, conveyors, belts, oscillating conveyors, shakeout, air compressors, molding machines, electrical equipment, robots, furnaces, scale systems, etc.).
  • Use various tools (e.g. come-along, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, sanders, drills, pliers, ratchets, clamps, pry bars, pneumatic/electrical tools, etc.).
  • Use of machines, drill presses, grinders, band saws, hack saws and other tools related to maintenance.
  • Read, comprehend, and understand both electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, blueprint reading, and manuals.
  • Operate a forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
  • Perform work in confined spaces following the requirements of the Company’s Confined Space Program.
  • Ability to work at elevated levels (ladders, scaffolds, scissor lift, boom lift, etc.).
Experience Required
  • Five years electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Education, Training & Skills
  • Possess an electrical journeyperson’s card.
  • Successful completion of the RDI Team Member Selection System.
  • Teamwork: Ability to recognize the behaviors or actions that best supports the team and contributes to work performance when faced with work situations involving several problems or issues to be handled.
  • Observation: Ability to pay attention to (and remember) complicated work procedures for tasks that are performed at a quick pace – usually outside of the team member’s control. Tasks may contain extra details, involve unusual elements, consist of a number of steps and may include cause-and-effect relationships. Team members must make predictions, comparisons and evaluations.
  • Locating Information: Ability to read complex workplace graphics containing large amounts of information and/or challenging presentations. These graphics include very detailed graphs, charts, tables, forms, maps and diagrams. Team members must make decisions, draw conclusions and/or make predictions based on the information presented.
  • Applied Technology: Ability to solve problems involving one or more tools or systems across a wide range of complexity. The problems involve a moderate to heavy volume of information, while requiring advanced applications and knowledge of the applicable principles. Troubleshooting, analysis and application of the correct remedy is required.
  • Reading for Information: Ability to read written documents that contain many details. The information needed to complete a task is stated directly, but may be difficult to interpret. The materials include jargon, technical terms, and acronyms or words that have several meanings. Team members must consider several factors in order to identify the appropriate action.
  • Applied Mathematics: Ability to do one or two mathematical operations, figure averages or rates, reorder verbal information before performing calculations, and/or read a simple diagram or graph to get the information needed to solve a problem. Ability to utilize fractions, decimals and mixed numbers.
