The People Specialist will be responsible for supporting workers' compensation, HR operations, safety compliance, and training coordination. The ideal candidate will efficiently handle multiple tasks and drive HR processes while ensuring a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Support managing workers’ compensation claims, communicating with insurance providers, and ensuring proper documentation. Serve as a liaison between safety, payroll and the People Team. Integrate and maintain new hires into HRIS and conduct orientation. Provide ongoing support to new employees for a smooth transition. Seve as a point of contact for onboarding questions. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies. Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment. Maintain safety records and collaborate with the EHS Director and Coordinator on incidents. Ensure proper documentation for safety training and certifications. Deliver training programs and coordinate ongoing sessions based on job and organizational needs. Partner with department managers to identify training needs. Manage Applicant tracking system. Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with HR, safety, and regulatory standards. Support reporting processes for safety, claims, and training completion.
Requirements : Requirements :
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with HRIS (preferably Paylocity).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- 2-4 years of experience in HR or related fields, including safety and workers' compensation.
- Experience with federal contracting, EEO / AA compliance, and safety compliance is a plus.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; BS / BA in Business Administration preferred
Supervision :
Reports to the People Director in conjunction with EHS Director. Works autonomously within established guidelines.
