Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Summary
The Material Handling Specialist is responsible for efficiently managing the movement, organization, and staging of materials throughout the facility. This role ensures materials are handled safely and accurately to meet production and delivery schedules, contributing to the overall success of our operations

Key Responsibilities

Truck Operations:

• Unload and load trucks with incoming and outgoing materials/finished product.
• Verify deliveries and shipments against documentation for accuracy.

Machine Support:

• Load stock material onto machines for processing.
• Unload drop and cut pieces and organize them for further use or staging.

Paint Operations:

• Move paint trailers to and from the paint area.
• Unload painted materials and stage them for final inspection or delivery.

Documentation:

• Accurately document the location of raw materials, finished goods, and drop materials within the facility.

Yard and Material Organization:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient material yard.
• Ensure materials are stored securely and are easily accessible.

Fabrication Assistance:

• Assist fabricators in locating and retrieving parts for structural member fit-ups.

Safety and Maintenance:

• Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report any issues.
• Safely transport materials, long and short, from one location to another.
• Maintain fork trucks and trailers used for moving materials.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a related field.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
• Basic understanding of structural materials and fabrication processes is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.

• Good communication skills to coordinate with drivers, fabricators, and other staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address material flow or storage issues.
• Commitment to safety and efficiency in all tasks.
• Fork truck operations.
• Overhead crane operations.
• Rigging experience.

Work Environment:

• Primarily works in an industrial and outdoor environment.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
