Job Description Binder Operator/Material Handler
Department: Production
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhering to safe working methods, good working practices and housekeeping.
- Unloading and loading of materials and supplies from trucks.
- The setup of fiber bales at the hopper systems for each production line.
- Packaging and labeling of finished goods.
- Changing propane tanks for forklift (as needed).
- Proper mixing of latex binder according to established recipes.
- Measuring the binder levels in storage and mix tanks.
- Receiving raw binder during shift.
- Developing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment according to established standard procedures.
- Ability to meet company policy for attendance and work schedule requirements.
- Other duties assigned.

- Forklift certified preferred or ability to be certified
- Mathematical ability to convert measurements for liquids
- Ability to read, write and interpret and comprehend documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schematics, technical documents and safety rules
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.

- Routinely Lifting, pushing, and pulling 30 lbs and over
- Standing for long periods, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs routinely and lift up to to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand, to walk, to perceive distance and to distinguish color.
- Ability to routinely use hand tools for maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Work in an environment with moderate noise level, wet or high humidity conditions, excessive heat, extreme cold and vibration, exposure to airborne particles and moving parts.
