POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain and Operations Specialist for Metal Zinc will be the primary interface between warehouse operations, purchasing, logistics, and sales to ensure efficient and on-time production and shipping of HVAC Sheetmetal Components across the Southeastern United States. Teamwork is a key to success with coordinated interaction with the manufacturing environment and management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Purchase Order Management
Manage and track purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of materials and components for manufacturing. Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee on-time delivery and avoid production delays, while also maintaining optimal inventory levels to support manufacturing schedules.
· Supply Chain and Manufacturing technology Investments
Monitor and analyze industry trends, production capabilities, and new technologies that could impact Metal Zinc. Provide data-driven recommendations for improving efficiency, reducing cost, and streamlining operations across the supply chain. Integration of new custom programming while maintaining accurate data and processes with ERP software.
· Manufacturing Team Support
Work closely with the manufacturing team to understand production requirements and ensure that raw materials and components are available as needed. Troubleshoot and supply chain issues that could disrupt production timelines and work to resolve them promptly.
· Supply chain standardization and documentation
Develop work instructions and standards for various elements of the supply chain process – warehousing and logistics. Process development to improve work flows in inventory, inbound receiving, and outbound shipping.
· Logistics Coordination
Lead and integrate company standards for logistical operation with Logistics department, warehouse, and sales team. Manage trucking vendors from Full Truckload to Hotshot delivery services utilizing industry best practices to ensure on-time and cost-effective shipping methods.
Key Accountabilities
1. Metal Zinc Interface: function as key liaison between other internal departments, raw material vendors, and freight vendors.
2. Performing Transportation and Distribution Planning analysis and cost tracking to identify areas for service improvements, cost optimization/reduction, and process improvements. These efforts will be driven from an analytical approach and monitored by Transportation & Distribution Performance KPIs.
3. Input on strategic decisions for the business and looking for opportunities for ERP investment and improvement along with PowerBI data models.
4. Managing and resolving transportation invoice audits and approval process with Accounts Payable Department.
5. Participating and leading projects, meetings, and implementations with internal business partners, service platforms, customers, and external service providers.
6. Driving efficiency within the department, you will establish and improve work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards.
Required Education and Experience
· 2 years of experience in supply chain, management, operations/engineering, procurement
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or Industrial Distribution
· Global Shop Solutions ERP or similar ERP system
· Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with internal partners and suppliers
· Team oriented and capable of working in a multi-tasking environment with limited information
· Must be authorized to work int eh United States for any employer
