What does a day-in-the-life look like?

Primary Responsibilities:

• Efficient and safe management of ecoat and wastewater operations to maximize safety, production quality, and output.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Metalsa Operating System (MOS) for coating operations.
• Ensure equipment safety devices are kept adequate and operational.
• Responsible for promoting safety by ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures, holding regular safety meetings, and proper completion and follow-up of awareness reports.
• Promote continuous improvement activities by daily analysis of quality, production, and downtime data.
• Train and support technicians on assigned shifts for maximum safety, productivity, and quality.

Housekeeping:

• Ensure that assigned Ecoat areas are clean and organized according to Metalsa 5S standards.
• Encourage proper clean-up after all maintenance and process activities.

Quality:

• Experience with ISO/TS16949/IATF quality systems preferred.
• Responsible for production quality for assigned shift to include processes and painted parts.
• Ensures operator training and adherence to the quality control plans for coating processes.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and process issues that affect quality and productivity.

Production:

• Coordinate paint and wastewater treatment processes.
• Responsible for managing all coating and wastewater activities on assigned shifts.
• Responsible for cost control for labor and materials on assigned shifts.
• Help track and control electro coat and waste treatment chemical inventory.
• Ensure coordination with and assistance to maintenance personnel in assigned areas.
• Responsible for E-Coat technicians, performance evaluations, and interviews.
• Assist in the procurement of equipment, repair parts and supplies as required.
• Help develop and conduct training activities.
• Help coordinate preventive, predictive ecoat process maintenance activities.

What you will bring:

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent coating/wastewater experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in industrial painting (electro coat, powder coat, wax) or wastewater treatment or a combination thereof.
• Minimum of (2) years of proven supervisory experience desired.
• Experience with Local, State, and Federal chemical handling regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Work overtime as required for production and process maintenance supervision.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics.

• 10 hour shift

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
