Role Objective: Schedule production and coordinate the ordering/ receipt of material to meet customer requirements and maintain productive plant operations. Ensure inventory transactions and physical inventory counts are accurate.
What does a day in the life look like?
- Schedule production based on customer requirements
- Create the Rollform and Basebar schedules using Oracle, MES, and customer inputs
- Coordinate raw material planning and procurement with steel suppliers and other vendors
- Monitor workflow and capacity vs. requirements; escalate risks to leadership
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and Logistics teams to update constraints and optimize schedule
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as per MOS practice
- Review receiving transactions for raw materials, correcting discrepancies in Oracle
- Create and maintain reports and worksheets including offsite inventory tracking and TS indicators
- Analyze and correct issues with receiving, shipping, and offal transactions
- Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers, warehouses, and transportation companies
- Create raw material releases weekly; coordinate shipment plans
- Support service rail planning, production schedule execution, and month-end inventory adjustments
- Report KPIs and scrap accumulation data to Finance
- Approve/correct supplier invoices related to processing, freight, and storage
- Support physical inventory coordination and cross-border process with Apodaca team
- Serve as point of contact for supply planning, escalation, and customer service coordination when needed
Education Experience
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferred in Materials-related field, Supply Chain Management, Planning, Management, or Engineering
- Associate degree considered with 10 years relevant experience
- 3 years’ experience in production control and master scheduling
- 3 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or customer service
- Automotive industry background strongly preferred
- Experience working with steel mills or steel vendors highly desirable
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Oracle ERP
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Power BI and MES
- Experience with MRP/Detail Scheduling practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Supplier and logistics coordination experience
