Job Summary
The Account Solutions Manager plays a critical role in driving sales growth by combining technical knowledge with strong customer relationship skills. This position focuses on understanding customer needs, developing cost-effective solutions, and selling sheet metal fabrication services, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and machining. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machining processes as well as sheet metal manufacturing processes and be able to translate technical capabilities into value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with Program and Project customers, ensuring a strong pipeline of repeat and new business.
- Work closely with the estimating team to generate accurate quotes and ensure competitive pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop feasible manufacturing solutions based on customer requirements.
- Identify new business opportunities within the sheet metal fabrication industry, including expanding direct-to-machining sales.
- Conduct on-site visits and customer consultations to understand project requirements and address technical questions.
- Communicate with internal departments, including scheduling, quality, and production, to align customer expectations with shop capabilities.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements to provide customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and sales proposals to prospective clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues related to pricing, lead times, quality, and order fulfillment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of machining processes required.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes (laser cutting, press brake bending, welding, powder coating, and assembly).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience using an ERP system (preferably M1) for quoting and order management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Problem-solving skills and ability to balance technical and commercial decision-making.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business (preferred but not required).
