We are seeking a Director of Technical Delivery, also known as our “Forward Deployed Architect,” to provide technical leadership across MetaPhase’s most strategic programs. This individual will rotate into newly awarded technology contracts, embed within high-priority teams, and bring thought leadership, architectural guidance, and delivery oversight across our federal civilian and national security engagements. As a key member of the senior technology team, you'll mentor junior engineers, meet regularly with clients, lead demos, and help shape the future of technical delivery at MetaPhase.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as a “forward deployed” technical leader across the company, deploying into priority programs to lead delivery, shape architecture, or stabilize execution.
- Lead strategy, solution design, and execution on large-scale federal digital modernization efforts.
- Oversee the technical roadmap and drive implementation of modern architectures, cloud environments, and DevSecOps practices across programs.
- Mentor and develop junior technical talent across MetaPhase—fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Lead client engagements, including architecture presentations, stakeholder demos, and delivery oversight.
- Serve as key personnel on federal contracts; maintain certifications as required by proposal and contract terms.
- Lead the technical internship program, including mentoring participants and coordinating with schools and career programs.
- Support business development by leading technical solutioning, presenting in orals, and creating technical demonstration assets.
What We Need From You (Required)
- U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
- Must reside in the Washington, DC metro area (DMV); hybrid work model with availability for in-person client meetings.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall IT experience, including 5 years supporting federal consulting engagements.
- PMP and Agile certification (Scrum Master or SAFe).
- AWS or Azure cloud certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Strong track record of technical leadership—successfully leading teams, engaging directly with clients, and managing technical delivery across diverse environments.
- Experience launching or stabilizing federal programs as a Program Manager, Technical Lead, or Solution Architect.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Work Location & Travel
- Reston, VA / Hybrid – Onsite at least 3 days per week with occasional local travel for client meetings or internal events; may vary depending on deployment needs.
Clearance Level
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; active Top Secret clearance preferred.
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree or advanced certification preferred.
