The Director of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to lead our VDC initiatives and drive innovation in construction technology. This role will oversee the development and implementation of virtual design strategies, manage cross-functional teams, and collaborate with project stakeholders to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve overall project delivery. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital workflows, and emerging construction technologies. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a high level of confidentiality. - Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a companywide VDC strategy to enhance project execution and operational efficiency.
- Technology & Innovation: Research, evaluate, and implement emerging VDC technologies, including AI, digital twin, and automation, to optimize design and construction workflows.
- BIM & Digital Coordination: Oversee BIM standards, modeling protocols, and clash detection processes to ensure seamless integration of design and construction phases.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure effective digital coordination and modelbased decisionmaking.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve project visualization and data utilization.
- Training & Development: Lead and mentor the VDC team, providing ongoing training on BIM tools, software, and best practices to drive companywide adoption.
- Data & Analytics: Leverage data analytics to drive insights, track project progress, and optimize construction sequencing and scheduling.
- Standardization & Compliance: Establish companywide VDC standards, ensure adherence to industry’s best practices, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between technology vendors, executive leadership, and project teams to ensure successful implementation of digital construction strategies.
- Budget Management: Oversee VDC department budgeting, ensuring costeffective solutions while maintaining highquality outcomes.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in VDC, BIM, or digital construction leadership roles.
- Expertise in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.), visualization tools, and construction technology platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and drive digital transformation.
- Experience in datadriven decisionmaking and implementing digital workflows at a companywide level.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
