Location: Meteor Crater Visitor Center Coffee House
Reports to: Food Service Manager and Crater Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Meteor Crater Visitor Center Coffee House is seeking a dedicated and friendly Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, preparing high-quality food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all visitors. Under the guidance of the Food Service Manager and/or Crater Supervisor, you will be responsible for cash register operations, food and drink preparation, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the coffee shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a positive attitude, take orders, and serve food and drinks in a timely and courteous manner.
• Drink & Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of beverages and food items following standard recipes and portion sizes. Use food prep equipment to ensure quality and consistency.
• Cash Handling: Operate a computerized cash register, accurately process cash and credit card transactions, and be responsible for all monies and sales.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all County Health Department guidelines and ensure proper food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation practices at all times.
• Maintenance: Perform light maintenance duties, including cleaning work areas and stocking supplies. Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
• Team Support: Assist with training and supporting new team members, collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth operations, and cover shifts or breaks as needed.
• Guest Experience: Ensure all guests receive a professional, positive, and memorable experience during their visit. Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Uniform and Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the complete uniform, including name tag, earpiece, and keys.
• Additional Duties: Be flexible and willing to perform other tasks as required by management, including serving beer and liquor when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Previous barista, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle financial transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow food preparation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Must be flexible with work hours and willing to assist with various tasks.
• Willing to serve beer and liquor (must be of legal age).
• Must adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in a busy environment with frequent customer interactions.
