Job Summary:
Meteor Crater Enterprises is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Retail Associate to join our team at the Meteor Crater Visitor Center and Barringer Space Museum. As a Retail Associate, you will assist with day-to-day operations in our Gift Shop, Rock Retail Shops, and other departments, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining an organized and welcoming environment. Under the supervision of the Retail Manager and Supervisors, you will manage cash register transactions, assist customers with their purchases, and ensure that all areas of the store are kept clean and stocked. You will also support the team by assisting with opening and closing procedures, balancing sales, and handling various operational tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient retail experience for our visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in selecting merchandise and processing sales.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the shop, including restocking, pricing merchandise, and maintaining common areas.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including balancing cash registers and counting sales totals.
- Collaborate with team members to support daily operations and cover breaks as needed.
- Help train and support new team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Communicate inventory levels and operational needs to management.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety, cleanliness, and uniform standards.
- Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication and ensure operational goals are met.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced retail environment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Prolonged standing and walking may be required.
- Tight deadlines and multiple demands, requiring flexibility and time management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Experience with cash handling, sales transactions, and balancing registers.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet performance standards without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.

- Must wear complete uniform at all times, including name tag, earpiece, and keys.
