What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chaplain position at Meth-Wick Community?
Meth-Wick has been recognized for the past 6 years as the Corridor Business Journal’s “Best Senior Living Community”. We promote 7 Dimensions of Wellness which include emotional, environmental, physical, social, cognitive, technological, and spiritual. To support the spiritual component, Chaplains are responsible for assisting residents with integrating their religious faith, traditions, spiritual growth and needs within the challenges and framework of daily living.
We are currently seeking a full-time or part-time Chaplain.
This position will :
- Assist residents in meeting their spiritual needs, whatever their faith tradition, coordinating and providing resources as needed.
- Counsel and / or listen to residents, families, and employees upon request.
- Plan and conduct weekly ecumenical Christian worship services on Sunday mornings and prepare bulletins for those services.
- Provide sacraments when requested and / or needed.
- Prepare and teach Bible studies or issues classes.
- Plan and conduct services for religious holidays or special events as appropriate.
- Assist in spirituality-based programming and resources.
- Plan support group opportunities and serve as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
Candidates should have education in theology, be trained chaplaincy or ordained as a pastor, and should be able to encourage individual spirituality no matter a resident’s faith background.
