Job Description
This position requires a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide care and support to youth in a home-based setting. The Alternate Teaching Parent will work closely with the Teaching Parents to ensure the provision of a comprehensive program of care that addresses the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the youth.
Responsibilities
- Assist Teaching Parents in providing daily care and supervision to youth, including meals, transportation, and activities.
- Help develop and implement individualized plans of care for each youth, in collaboration with the Teaching Parents and other relevant professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed care, crisis management, and cultural competence.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of youth progress, including medical records, behavioral notes, and incident reports.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe and supportive living environment that promotes healthy relationships and behaviors among youth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services or education preferred, but high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children or other populations with special needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to take advantage of extensive training and apply it to the implementation of a comprehensive program of care for children.
- Possess or able to obtain a valid Arkansas Driver's License and be insurable to operate company vehicles.
- Physically capable of restraining youth if necessary, performing various maintenance tasks, and sitting/standing for long periods of time.
