Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Med / Surg Certification
  • Ortho Certification

Job Description :

  • Unit Information : Ortho / Surgical unit on the 5th floor of the Patient Tower with 35 beds.
  • Staff Composition :
  • Day Shift : 1 charge / CNC, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs, 1 unit clerk
  • Night Shift : 1 charge / CNC, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 5 or 1 : 6
  • Equipment : Computer on Wheels, Hospira pumps, IMOBILE phones
  • EMR System : MEDITECH
  • Typical Procedures :
  • Bariatric procedures such as Gastric bypass and Gastric Sleeves
  • Orthopedic Surgeries including Total hip replacements and Total knee replacements
  • General Surgery procedures like Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and Laparoscopic appendectomies
  • Best Personality Fit : Team player with a positive attitude
  • Floating Areas : Med / Renal, Oncology, Med / Surg Tele, CVTS, and Telemetry
  • Dress Code : Navy scrubs for RN. Hair should be neat and clean without extreme styles or colors. Facial hair should be clean and neatly trimmed. Body art should be covered whenever possible, and visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
  • Unit Guidelines / Policies :
  • Floating Guidelines : Expected to work and float to other areas as needed.
  • Attendance Policies : 4 weekend shifts in a schedule or coverage for 2 full weekends.
  • Night Shift : Weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Day Shift : Weekend days include Saturday and Sunday
