Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Telemetry

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM / 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM (Every other weekend and some holidays)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Hospital / Specialty experience

License : Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses will not be accepted)

Certifications :

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Required

Must-Have :

Telemetry monitoring

Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting

Effective communication with patients

De-escalation techniques

Job Description :

Perform IV insertion and management

Manage lines and drains

Provide post-care for cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement or revision, and vascular surgery

Utilize Meditech for documentation

Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports

Communicate effectively with patients and team members

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Knowledge of cardiac medications and management of IV drips such as insulin and heparin

Support the unit's communication and procedures using AIDET

Adhere to dress code : Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket, clean and healthy nails, neat and clean hair, and covered tattoos where possible

Participate in floating according to policy and complete necessary orientation forms and procedures

Note : All nurses may be required to float between departments.
