What You Will Do
- Plans, organizes, implements, and controls the activities and operations by shift.
- Assures the day to day department operations run smoothly and efficiently within established policy, procedures and special orders.
- Controls assignments, evaluates performance, counsels, issues corrective action and recommends discharge of department personnel as required.
- Plans and participates in mock drills/exercises.
- Formulates short-term goals for their location and/or the MH Security Department.
- Oversees the officers in the handling of confrontations with a customer service focus with Safety guidelines.
- Assists in preparing the annual expense budget, capital budget, and human resource utilization plan for the Security department.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3-5 years Security or law enforcement
- Class D Driver's License Tennessee Motor Vehicle
- Knowledge of security and criminal investigation methods and operations.
- Ability to model integrity and honesty to subordinates.
- Demonstrable leadership potential.
- Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate verbally with Associates, management and members of the public.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of own and others' work flow.
- Supervises Security Officers.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
- Periodically to frequently use physical force to resolve an emergency situation.
- Ability to successfully participate and complete departmental specific required training that includes physical, hands on training and competencies.
