Summary:
This position is responsible for managing Methodist University Cape Fear Valley School of Medicine core business systems. The individual will assist in the design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the systems, and work with technical experts to evaluate needs, develop procedures, and implement appropriate solutions. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst III prepares project specifications for developers, coordinates testing with functional stakeholders at the School of Medicine, functionally approves migrations and upgrades in non-production and production instances and assists with determining the training materials needed for upgrades and projects. This position acts as a bridge between the functional areas of Methodist University Cape Fear Valley and key technical positions within the School of Medicine IT Department, Methodist University centralized IT, and external technology vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with department staff to understand their technology needs.
- Technical aptitude, initiative, innovative, and customer service skills
- Develop and maintain technical subject matter expertise.
- Identify detailed requirements from business users.
- Knowledge of, and ability to, apply project management principles
- Lead/participate in Project and Change Management activities.
- Ensure adequate end-user documentation, communication, and training.
- Creates project plans, coordinates and leads project meetings, ensures project documentation is up to date, and manages tasks related to projects
- Develop test plans for assigned IT services and manage acceptance testing with business users.
- Develop reports and dashboards for functional areas.
- Build connections with the functional and technical staff using effective communication
- Collaborate with the MU Project Management office to ensure department needs are met.
- Act as a liaison with School of Medicine IT, Methodist University centralized IT and/or outside vendors.
- Perform system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades or patches.
- As well with other duties assigned.
Secondary Duties:
- Serve as a point of contact for project communications.
- Lead and participate in team-based project activities and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business Administration required.
- Five or more years of experience working in Information Technology, supporting application and technology services, and working directly with functional areas.
- Experience working effectively with IT, Finance, HR, and cross-functional colleagues.
- Demonstrated system configuration experience and working knowledge of system design and development techniques.
- Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred.
- Business Analysis or Project Management certification or equivalent training preferred.
