With operations currently in California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, Metiri’s objective is to provide full-service environmental laboratory services and solutions with the highest caliber service experience.
Our business is primed for rapid growth and we’re looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join our dynamic and growing team.
The Quality Assurance Assistant supports the QA team in maintaining and improving quality standards across products, services, or operations. This role is responsible for performing inspections, compiling reports, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations alongside the QA Manager. They will help to identify quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine quality checks and inspections on products, processes, or services Document quality issues, track deviations, and maintain accurate records and logs.
- Support the QA team in preparing reports, quality metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in internal and external audits (regulatory, client, ISO, etc.).
- Help maintain and update quality management systems (QMS).
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams regarding quality standards and findings.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Ensure that all QA documentation complies with applicable policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with production or operations to address non-conformances.
- Support training initiatives on quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or business-related field preferred.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- 1-2 years experience in quality assurance or a related administrative/technical role
- Basic understanding of quality control procedures and principles.
- Familiarity with documentation practices, audit processes, and QMS systems.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations or standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, GMP, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures consistently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to identify problems and propose logical solutions.
- Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments, if required.
