Position:
Metlfab is hiring for a saw operator to support our machine shop by preparing raw materials to be machined.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a band saw and table saw to cut raw materials to blank size.
- Read engineering drawings and job routers to determine what type of material needs to be processed for the job.
- Document certification codes on routers for the material being processed.
- Maintain good maintenance practices on the saws.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area every day to prevent metal and plastic chips from circulating throughout the shop.
- Maintain raw material inventory ensuring all materials are identified with their certification codes.
- Occasionally help load and unload CNC machines to mill parts.
- Operate fork lift to unload raw material for delivery trucks.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift material weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Previous fork lift experience would be a bonus.
- Must be able to work with others in a team setting.
- Must be able to read and fluently speak English.
- Must have reliable transportation.
