Role Value Proposition:
The Nurse Reviewer position is responsible for reviewing Statement of Health applications for Group Life and Disability insurance. You will review submitted forms for medical details and order additional medical such as paramedical exams and attending physician statements. Upon receipt of medical documents, you will review against our underwriting manuals to determine if applications can be approved or declined.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews assigned cases to determine if Group Life or Disability insurance should be approved.
- Examines and processes Statement of Health Applications; determines whether to return, put on pending, deny, approve or request additional medical information.
- Basic business acumen expected (i.e. written and verbal skills)
- Basic computer skills; proficient in use of multiple systems and technology resources.
- Able to maintain consistency of quality standards by utilizing job aids, work instructions and verbal direction.
- Requires working a large team environment with direction from various supervisory roles.
- Ability to work independently to investigate medical details (i.e. research medical conditions and medications).
- Able to take feedback, shows a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 1 year medical underwriting experience
- High school Diploma
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license.
- Ability to put the team first.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $50,900 - $55,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
